RECORDS OF LOTTIE (Kruger) DILLY FAMILY

Lottie, the third child of Christian and Nona (Sorholt) Kruger. Born Nov. 1, 1844 in Flessmoor, Ostfriesland, Germany. Died July 14, 1921 in Worthington, Minn. Married John Dilly in 1863 at Forreston, Ill. John was born Sept. 23, 1841 in New York City, N.Y. He died Aug. 24, 1912 in Worthington, Minn. They had eleven children:

1. CHRIS: born 1862. Married Lena Vietmier. Ran a dray in Sheldon and farmed near Glenhorn, S. Dak. Their two children: Ed and Ralph. Ed was born in 1896. Married Amy Olson and retired in Aberdeen, S. Dak. He was a railroad man. They had four children: Bob, born 1919 at Rapid City, S. Dak. and is a contractor. Built the "chapel in the Hills" from which radio vespers are broadcast. MARGIE was born 1921 and is at home in Aberdeen, not married. RUSSELL: born 1923, has two children, lives in Sacremento, Calif. CARROLL: born 1925, has two children, lives in San Jose, Calif. RALPH: born 1903 at Sheldon, Ia. Married Hilda Ellingson. Retired in Aberdeen, S. Dak, They had two children: Jeri (Johnson) at Aberdeen and have 5 children. Darlene: has two girls, lives in Shakopee, Minn.

2. JOHN: born July 11, 1907 [1867?], at Freeport, Ill. Never married. Died May 29, 1942 at Henning, Minn. In his early years he carried mail between May City and Ocheyedan.

3. JOHANNA: born 1870 at Freeport, Ill. Married name-Stablefeldt. They had three children. She died in Calif. Her children: Mary (Anderson) has four children; Trudeaux, Irealda, Douglas, Charles. NONA (Watson) lived in Montana and Calif., has no children. ELMER: died in childhood.

4. LOUIS: born 1873. Never married. Died near Redfield, S. Dak. with no record of his death.

5. FRED: born Mar. 2, 1875 at Freeport, Ill. Died Aug. 22, 1925 at Henning Minn. Married Bernadene DeVries Feb. 27, 1901. They had 8 children: Arnold who drowned in a gravel pit while swimming in his youth. Charlotte (Henderson) who lives at Henning Minn. on the home farm. Clara (Senbert) farms near Bertha, Minn. and has three boys, David, Dick, Arnold who all farm near Bertha. George lived with his mother and never married. Mary lives at Henning, Lawrence lives in Fergus Falls, Minn. Laura (Nesdahl) lives at Fergus Falls. Fred Jr. in the army and whereabouts not known.

6. CLAUS: born 1877 at Freeport, Ill. Married Cora Robertson at Sheldon, Ia. Ran a dray line there. Had 3 children: Roy, a railroad man, retired at St. Regis, Montana. Merle-worked in a copper mine, no record. Hazel-died in the 1918 flu epidemic. Her mother died two days later. They were burled in the same grave.

7. WILLIAM: born 1879 at Freeport, Ill. Died 1970 at Worthington, Minn. Married Maude Van Horssen. Farmed near Westfield, Ia. until Maude's ill health forced them to move to Worthington, their 3 children: Lawrence born 1901, married Abbey Peterson, live in Henning in the summer and Phoenix in the winter. Their one daughter Constance (Elvik) lives in Los Angeles, Calif. QUEENIE (Lucken) of Lakeville died in a car accident in 1965 and had 3 children; Linda of Lakeville, Larry of Orchard Grove, (suburb [Cottage Grove?]) of Minneapolis, and Leroy of St. Paul. Their third was Forrest Dilly of Littleton, Colorado.

8. NONA: (Wolfle) (Milton) Born 1880 at Freeport, Ill. Died May 22, 1962 at Worthington. Farmed in Wisconsin and then moved to Worthington. They had four children: Arthur Wolfle who died in an auto accident in 1934. Arthur was born Nov. 29, 1900 and married Lillian Milton in 1920. No record of children. Clarence: born 1902, died April 17, 1966. Married Clarice Pacy. They had three children: Donald, Judy and Rudine. LEONA: born 1905. Married Art Nelson and live in Worthington. Had two children: Harold who married Violet Hindt and lives in Bloomington. He is a park maintenance man, they have four daughters; Jane, Bonnie, Vicki, Lori. Roberta, who married Eldon Good and farm near Bigelow, Minn. They have two daughters, Connie born in 1950 and killed in a tractor accident in 1962; Glenda born in 1958. GLEN born 1909, married Rose Martin, have one daughter, Mary Kay.

9. LOTTIE: born Nov. 11, 1882 and died Feb. 28, 1966. Married Frank Robertson at Sheldon, Iowa. They had three children: 

	A. Lucille (Fitch) born June 5, 1905, married Roy Fitch who died in 1938 leaving her to raise 5 children. Lives in Worthington. Her children are: 
	
		i. James born Feb. 2, 1928 and married Cora Sue Robertson and had 4 children - Rhonda Sue, Gary, Robert and ???. 
		
		ii. MARY LEE (Pahl) born April 6, 1932, has 3 children--Steven, Douglas, Gaylord. 
		
		iii. ROSE (Gehl) born May 5, 1933, farms near Fulda, Minn. and has 4 children--James, Nancy, Judy, Sheila. 
		
		iv. JOHN -- born May 8, 1935, married Virginia Anderson, lives in Washington, has a son and a daughter. 
		
		v. WILLIAM -- born Oct. 16, 1937, married Eileen Baker lives in Minneapolis, has 3 children; Carrie, Carmin, Stephanie. 
		
	B. 2nd Child -- VERA (Klingensmith) born July 25, 1906 at Proy, Wisc. [Troy, WI?] Married Glenn Klingensmith in 1926 - live at Washta, Ia. Their 10 children; David, Richard, Ruth, Roger Lee, Kaye, Charlotte Joan, Marilyn, Daniel Glenn, Joel Scott, Michael John. 
	
		i. DAVID born June 24, 1927 in Iowa, married Joan Harrison who died in 1961, their 3 children are -- Dean, Carol, Susan. He married Elaine Hiensich and one child, Joyce and 4 step-children-Pamela, Peggy, Penny, Paul. They farm at Kingsley, Ia. He is a WW II Veteran. 
		
		ii. RICHARD born Sept. 6, 1928 at Sioux City, married Flora Lu Watcher in March 1951 -- have 4 children-Shelly Lu, Kathy, Richard Jr. and Jennie Kris. He is a WW II Veteran. 
		
		iii. RUTH: born Jan. 10, 1930 in Iowa. Married Frank Roecehler who died in 1969, they had four children, Connie (Ward), Geri, Mark, Kent. 2nd marriage to Aaron Hastings. They live in Tucson, Arizona. 
		
		iv. ROGER LEE -- born April 22, 1931 and had two children in first marriage -- Beth Ann and Lori. Divorced and married Peggy Susman and had 2 children -- Joel and Kathy. Was a WW II veteran. 
		
		v. KAYE (Metcalf) born Nov. 15, 1933 in Iowa. One adopted son "Colly." Taught school in Minneapolis school system where they now live. 
		
		vi. CHARLOTTE JOAN (Oberdeck) born April 2, 1936 -- one son, Peter Karl. Taught school in Chicago where she now resides. 
		
		vii. MARILYN (Dorwart) born Aug. 17, 1939, married in Chicago and lives in St. Louis. Was stewardess for Ozark Airlines. 
		
		viii. Daniel GLENN -- born Sept. 18, 1944, Northfield, Minn. Married Carol Turec and have 2 girls, Debby and Wendy. Works for Vocational Tech. School District in Minneapolis. 
		
		ix. JOEL SCOTT -- born Nov. 12, 1946 at Minneapolis. Married Marlene Hoffman. Is with Hartford Ins. Co. Des Moines, Ia. 
		
		x. MICHAEL JOHN -- born Jan. 13, 1953 (adopted), is in school at Chicago U. 
		
	C. 3rd Child; BERNICE (Gray) born Nov. 18, 1908 at Greenwood, Wisc. Married Jack Gray of Sioux City. They had one son Thomas Jackson who was born Dec. 7, 1929, married Frances Norton and have 3 children -- Thomas Jr., Billy, Patty Sue. Jack is deceased and Bernice is living in Sioux City. Her mother made her home there the latter years of her life.

10. HENRY: born Nov. 1884 and died April 1966. Married Nett Ely and farmed near Reading, Minn. They had five children: LaVilla, Vernon, Walter, Lester, Doris. LAVILLA (Beystrom) born 1905-no family, farm at Battle Lake. VERNON-born 1907, died in young manhood leaving two daughters-Joan who was killed in an auto accident and Darlene living in Chicago. WALTER -- has a grocery store in Henning, Minn. and has one son and one daughter. LESTER -- lives in Hastings, Neb. DORIS (Cordes) lives on a farm near Henning, Minn.

11. EMMA (Eggleston) born 1886, died 1937 in Calif. One son, Ralph, born in Worthington. Is married and living in Calif. No children.
