1. Knew 1900 and 1920 census for Henry and Nettie Dilly but couldn't find them in 1930 or 1910.  1900 in Ocheyedan, Osceola, Iowa and 1920 in Inman Twp, Otter Tail, Minnesota. Knew he was born 8 Nov 1884 in Illinois and wife 13 Sep 1883. Knew he died in MN so likely still in MN in 1930. So try: Henry Dilly in MN exact. Nothing. Try Soundex. Try Otter Tail county.  Drop last name and just use Henry. Note Billy. Doesn't match Dilly.

2. Known: Nona Dilly born Dec 1880 in Freeport, IL, lived in WI at some point, died 22 May 1962 in Worthington, Nobles, MN + unknown Wolfe with children Arthur (1900), Clarence (1902), Leona (1905), Glen (1909) (plus their spouses). Tried Nona Wolfe for 1910, 1920, 1930 both exact and soundex. No luck.  Tried each child with name + Wolfe with both and soundex, birth year and mother born in IL and named Nona (and without name). Finally, repeated without last name. Got hit with last name Woelfle in 1910 for Glen.

3. Known: Glenn Robert Woelfle and wife Rose both died in Lyon county, MN (as verified by MN death index). From Midwest knew daughter Mary Kay Woelfle. Looked for her and found Mary K. Woelfle in MN Marriage in Lyon county. This gives dob of about 1942, which fits with Glenn and Rose but could be coincidence.

4. KNEW: [WILLIAM: born 1879 at Freeport, Ill. Died 1970 at Worthington, Minn. Married Maude Van Horssen. Farmed near Westfield, Ia. until Maude's ill health forced them to move to Worthington, their 3 children: Lawrence born 1901, married Abbey Peterson, live in Henning in the summer and Phoenix in the winter. Their one daughter Constance (Elvik) lives in Los Angeles, Calif. QUEENIE (Lucken) of Lakeville died in a car accident in 1965 and had 3 children; Linda of Lakeville, Larry of Orchard Grove, (suburb [Cottage Grove?]) of Minneapolis, and Leroy of St. Paul. Their third was Forrest Dilly of Littleton, Colorado.

Found in 1880 census in Ridott, IL and 1900 in Ocheyedan, IA, both with family. Couldn't find in 1910. Looked in 1920. Found William B. with Maude living in Westfield, Plymouth, Iowa and born in 1880. This has to be the right person. Ages :

Look at military record of WWI draft. Find exact dob and location for 1918 (or so). Note living in SD but near IA. Look at google maps and Wikipedia.
For 1910, try varieties of William Dilly. Try Forrest Dilly with age and pob. Try For* Dilly. Find them. Now see why not William Dilly.
