Dr. Ronald Hirokawa

Dr. Ronald Hirokawa is the newest pediatrician to join our  PCMA family. He is passionate about promoting a healthy  lifestyle and caring for Hawai’i’s keiki. While Dr. Hirokawa  loves science and medicine, his favorite part of being  a doctor is really getting to know his patients and their  families and learning about their life stories. He believes  that raising a happy and healthy child is a team effort, and  he strives to develop a relationship with the entire family.  As a proud father of a young daughter, you can expect him  to treat your child as if they were his own..

Dr. Hirokawa grew up in Kaimuki and Aiea. He attended  Hokulani Elementary, Kaimuki Middle and Iolani High  School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from  Claremont McKenna College in Southern California. He  returned home to attend the University of Hawai’i, John  A. Burns School of Medicine and trained at many O’ahu  hospitals, including pediatrics rotations at Kapi’olani  Medical Center for Women and Children and working  with military families at Tripler Army Medical Center. Dr.  Hirokawa completed his pediatric residency training at  the University of California Irvine – Children’s Hospital of  Orange County Pediatric Residency Program, caring for  patients with diverse backgrounds at hospitals in Irvine,  Orange County, and Long Beach.

In his free time, Dr. Hirokawa enjoys spending time with his  family. He grew up playing baseball, football, and soccer  and has a passion for sports. His hobbies include cooking,  trying out new restaurants, and busting out the hibachi to  BBQ with his friends.
